Engineer John Mielke.

Mrs. Gordon Drake appeared to request that the committee approve of
their plans to connect into the city's municipal sewers through the
American College sewer line. She explained that the Waukesha County
Health Department has issued order to repair her present septic system.
According to Mrs. Drake, if use of the American College sewer line
can be arranged with the present owner it would save them a considerable
amount of money. Mayor Gottfried was authorized to advise Mr. Harold

garding the proposed change of boundaries on January 22, 1980 at
7:00 P.M. Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
Mr. James Kibbe, Sewer Treatment Plan Operator, discussed with the
committee the problems being experienced with a few residents in the
Denoon area when they attempt to connect into the sewer line. He
indicated that in several cases the proper connections to manholes
cannot be made because of improper preparation by the contractor. Mr.
John Mielke will review the matter.
The committee agreed to have Mr. John Mielke arrange a meeting with
Mr. Frank Schultz and Mr. James Kohl of the DNR to discuss several
problems relating to the northwest treatment facility.
Mr. Mielke reviewed for the committee the results of a meeting held
with the Department of Justice in Madison on December 13, 1979. He
presented a summary of the meeting prepared by Bill Mielke.
Mr. Mielke also presented a proposal by L. W. Allen Company to install
two pumps with a capacity of 3,000,000 gallons per day in the Woods
Road lift station at a cost of $17,877.00. In considering the matter
the committee noted that pumps of that capacity would eliminate the
need for bypassing the lift station in extreme wet weather and also
would protect the property owners from backup of sewage in their
basements. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend to the Common Council that
the two pumps be installed. Seconded by Ald. Salentine. Motion
carried.
Mayor Gottfried was directed to determine whether or not Mr. Henson's
request for a refund for overpayment of sewer usage has been taken care
of. He was asked to determine the number of sewer connections which
have been made in the Lake Denoon District.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Wayne Salentine, Sec'y.
