PSEM197911196 0 PUBLIC SEWER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 19, 1979 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dumke at 8:20 P.M. Also present was Committee Member Salentine. The committee acknowledged receipt of the minutes of the meeting held at Southeastern Regional Plan Commission regarding the boundaries of the Lake Denoon Sewer District. Plans for sewer extensions drafted by the city`s consulting engineers, Ruekert & Mielke, to serve the Miech, Godsell and Obremski properties were reviewed. Ald. Salentine moved for the approval of said plans. Seconded by Ald. Dumke Motion carried. Mayor Gottfried was directed to investigate the procedure to follow regarding the Baas hookup. The committee reviewed a request from Paul Schroeder, S76 W13770 Cambridge Ct. to review sewer charges billed to him as of August 1, 1979. The committee noted that although connection to the sewer occurred February 1, 1979, he did not occupy the home until July of 1979. The committee also noted that Mr. Schroeder owned a second home in Muskego which he had to sell prior to moving into his new home. Ald. Dumke moved to charge Mr. Schroeder sewer charges commencing on June 1, 1979. Seconded by Ald. Salentine. Motion • carried. The committee reviewed a request from Mr Keith Henson to review his utility bill. He indicated that although connection to the sewer system took place on December 13, 1978, occupancy did not occur until May 18, 1979. The committee referred the matter to the utility clerk to determine the difference in monies due. Quotations from John Lang in the amount of $1,225.00 and from Harold Senft in the amount of $1,350.00 to connect the Richard Roncke residence on Roger Drive were reviewed. Ald. Dumke moved to accept the low quote from John Lang in the amount of $1,225.00. Seconded by Ald. Salentine. Motion carried. Communication from Donohue & Associates, Inc., dated 10/17/79, recom- mending that the Town of Norway Sanitary District #1 approve the sewer plans for Lake Meadows Subdivision Add. #1. was reviewed and placed on file. Mr. Richard Knudsen appeared at the meeting to again discuss the possibility of serving the former Stephens property with public sewer. The committee noted that the property in question has a faulty septic system which will be ordered repaired by the County Health Department. The committee further noted that the faulty system was reported by the Health.Department prior to the time the new owner took occupancy. The committee -discussed with Mr. -Knudsen (representative of the new owners �of -the former Stephens -property) the many problems involved. Ald. Dumke '• moved to deny -the sewer extension requested by Mr, Knudsen since it would only serve the home in question. Seconded by Ald. Salentine. Motion carried. Mayor Gottfried was directed to obtain an opinion regarding the possibility of serving this home through the city right - of way on the east side of Hillendale Drive, He was directed to look into the problems which such an arrangement could create. The committee reviewed a request for payment by Rock Contractors and Super Excavators for work done in the Denoon area, During discussion it was noted that both Rock and Super Excavators have a considerable amount of restoration to be completed. Ald. Salentine moved to authorize payment of all monies due Rock Contractors and Super Excavators minus $10,000.00 which shall be held until completion of all restoration and the resolution of claims made by residents in the area, Seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried. There being no further business Ald. Dumke moved to adjourn, Seconded by Ald, Salentine. Motion carried. The.meeting adjourned at 9:55 P.M.
