MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 5, 1975
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Dumke at 8:00 P.M. Also
present were Aldermen Ford and Colburn and Mayor Gottfried.
Mr. and Mrs. Riege appeared with Charles Dunlap to inform the
committee that the lateral and riser on the sewer line are too high
• in order for them to make the proper connection to their new home on
the corner of Muskego Drive and Island Drive. They requested that the
problem be corrected in order that they can move in. Ald. Ford moved
to have the city bear the cost of lowering the riser and relocating
the lateral to the lot line, the cost notto exceed $540.00. Seconded
by Ald. Colburn, motion carried.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Lufkin and Mr. Frank Harding appeared at the
meeting to discuss sewer connection to their homes through city -owned
property. The city to give easement to make necessary connection. Ald.
Colburn moved to recommend Council approval of granting the proper
easement. Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried.
The Public Works Committee was requested to check the presence of
stagnant water in the drainage course running in front of the Lufkin
and Harding properties.
Mr. Robert Gumieny appeared at the meeting to present a petition with
signatures of 12 property owners requesting extension of sewer main to
the north intersection of Parker Drive and Racine Avenue. This matter
will be discussed at a future meeting.
The committee is waiting a reply to a letter from Mayor Gottfried to
Mr. Herbert Ripley of the Waukesha County Health Department as to the
high coliform count at the culvert located on College Avenue east of
Martin Drive.
Committee recieved a letter from Fountainwood Pool Association regarding
an overcharge of sewer usage for their organization. Ald. Ford moved
that the city refund the overcharge in the amount of $72.00 for the
past nine months. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Ald. Ford
moved to recommend that the Common Council add an amendment to
Ordinance #301 to provide that the sewer service charge to the Fountain -
wood Pool Association shall be $24.00 per swimming season. Seconded by
Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
• Mr. John Mielke to be invited to attend the June meeting of the Sewer
Committee to discuss drainage infiltration problems in the city.
Ald. Ford moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. The
meeting adjourned at 10:10 P.M.
