PSEM19730226PUBLIC SEWER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
•
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON
FEBRUARY 26, 1973
The meeting was called to
order by
Chairman Schaumberg at 10:30 A.M.
Also present were Aldermen
Knudsen
and Dumke and Mayor Gottfried.
Mr. David Cunningham and Mr. Alvin Schaefer appeared before the
committee to determine whether or not Mr. Schaefer could create a
lot along Lions Park Drive without jeopardizing his deferred assessment.
Mayor Gottfried was directed to contact City Attorney Buckley to
determine the legality of their request.
Walter Wollman's request for permission to extend sewers from Cornell
Drive to four acres presently owned by him which abuts Durham Meadows
Subdivision was presented to the committee. Ald. Dumke moved, as
seconded by Ald. Knudsen, to approve the request of Walter Wollman to
install an 8" sewer line from Cornell Drive through an easement between
Lots 10 and 11, Block 1, Durham Meadows Subdivision. Motion carried.
The Sewer Committee directed Mayor Gottfried to contact City Attorney
Buckley and Ruekert & Mielke to recommend, if necessary, a policy which
the city could use in determining what kind of assessment could be
used in the above situation.
• Mayor Gottfried presented a report from Ruekert & Mielke regarding the
daily flows recorded at the oxidation lagoons for 18 days in the month
of February, 1973. It was noted that the high was 602,000 gallons per
day and a low of 436,000 gallons with an average of 562,333 gallons
per day.
Discussion was held relative to Herb Puetzer's, Ray Wallner's and Re-
location Realty's request for permission to connect into the city sewer
system. Because of the apparent limited capacity of the oxidation
system, Ald. Schaumberg moved, as seconded by Ald. Dumke, that the
Sewer Committee recommend to the Common Council a moratorium be placed
on all new subdivisions as defined in Ch. 18.05 of the Subdivision
Control Ordinance.in those areas which would be served by the northwest
sewer system until August 1, 1973. Motion carried.
The committee discussed the existing capacity of the northwest sewer
system and directed Mayor Gottfried to have Ruekert & Mielke determine
whether or not there is any feasible way to increase the capacity of the
system and to estimate the cost.
Ald. Knudsen moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Dumke. Motion carried.
• The meeting adjourned at 12:00 Noon.
