PSEM19720911PUBLIC SEWER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 11, 1972 • The meeting was called to order by Chairman Paul Schaumberg at 10:10 A.M. Also present was Ald. Knudsen and Mayor Gottfried. Ald. Dumke was absent. Ald. Schaumberg moved to deny Mr. Norman Heikinen's request for a refund on the sewer lateral assessment because the condition previously existed at the time he purchased the property from Mr. Keller. The Sewer Committee is still waiting to hear from the City of New Berlin as to the meeting date and time relating to the possibility of extending sewers into the Linnie Lac area. A communication from Mr. Robert Gordon, Jewel Crest Drive, requesting an extension of the time allowed for sewer connection to his house. Ald. Schaumberg moved to deny his request, seconded by Ald. Knudsen. Motion carried. At 11:20 A.M. Mr. John Mielke, Bldg. Inspector Lee and Engineer Barry joined the meeting. Building Inspector Lee reported on a house to house inspection relating to the possibility of finding sump pump water being pumped into the sewer •system. He indicated that as of this date no violations have been found in approximately 10 inspections. Ald. Knudsen moved to have Mr. Lee continue with his inspections. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved to approve final payment to Rock Contractors for Project MSS-1-70, subject to the deductions of $483.99 as suggested by Engineer Barry. Seconded by Ald. Knudsen. Motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved to pay Cathlina Construction final payment subject to any deductions for incomplete restoration as recommended by Engineer Clark Barry. Seconded py Ald. Knudsen. Motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved to pay Cape Construction Co. final payment subject to any deductions for incomplete restoration as recommended by Engineer Clark Barry. Seconded by Ald. Knudsen. Motion carried. Ald. Knudsen moved to have the city pay premiums for health and hospital- ization for two sewer inspectors. The motion died for lack of a second. The pumping station on Lannon Drive was discussed. Ruekert & Mielke will supply costs of the installation of a grinder in an effort to eliminate foreign objects which are causing the pumps to stop. The meeting recessed at 1:30 P.M. and reconvened at 2:30 P.M. The committee agreed to charge Bell Reichel Co. contractor for the oxidation system for the northwest district, $6,200.00 in accordance with the late penalty clause in the contract. Ald. Knudsen moved to have Ruekert & Mielke prepare specifications on a multiple well system for future subdivisions. 10 Ruekert & Mielke will proceed with the staking of sewer easements on South Denoon Road for the Lake Denoon Sewer Project. The committee reviewed the minutes of their July 17, 1972, meeting, relating to the use of the northeast sewer system by the proposed development of Wallner-DeBack. In the light of the recommendation of the Plan Commission, the Sewer Committee would be willing to recommend to the Common Council, in addition to serving their lands on the north side of McShane Road, to include service to their property on the south side of McShane Road subject to the installation of a holding tank.
