PSEM19720731PUBLIC SEWER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
• MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON JULY 311 1972
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg at 10:00 A.M.
Also present were Ald. Knudsen, Mayor Gottfried and Dr. and Mrs. Gordon
Drake.
The purpose of the special meeting was to discuss the request from the
Plan Commission regarding the possibility of the American College connect-
ing into the city's municipal sewage system. Dr. Drake presented to the
committee a copy of an agreement between the College and the respective
developers which will be included in the contract with the developers.
They also presented a copy of the resident's hall lease which will be used
by the college. After considerable discussion, Ald. Knudsen moved to
recommend that the American College be permitted to connect into the mun-
icipal sewage system subject to the following conditions:
1. That the action of the Committee limits itself to the construction
of four building units.
2. That total occupancy will be no more than 96 persons, 16 of which
shall be faculty or college oriented employees including members of
their family.
3. No three bedroom units will be constructed.
4. Class rooms will be finished immediately.
5. The building plans will be student oriented.
and that the justification of this action is based on
1. The city has already rezoned the area to OIP and thus
committing the property to institutional use.
2. The College is in the assessment district and has paid a
sewer assessment.
3. City Attorney Buckley has rendered the opinion that the
proposed resident buildings can be considered as part of
the institutional use and is permitted under the Zoning
Ordinance.
