PSEM19720717PUBLIC SEWER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 17, 1972 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg at 10:30 A.M. Also present were Aldermen Knudsen and Dumke and Mayor Gottfried. Mrs. Ceille appeared at the meeting regarding the possibility of sewering property owned by her which abut Freedom Acres Subdivision and was a part of the original preliminary plat. • Attorney Jack Radtke appeared at the meeting regarding the possibility of installing holding tanks to aid in the developing of the lake property owned by him on the north side of McShane Road (former Hales Corners Sand and Gravel Co.) Mr. Robert Falkowski, owner of property on Schubring Drive, appeared at the meeting requesting financial aid from the city for installation cost of his sewer because the main along Schubring Drive is not deep enough to serve the kind of house he wishes to build. It was the Committee's decision that because the sewers were laid prior to the division of the land and because the city had no way of knowing of Mr. Falkowski's special building plans that it could not set the precedent of aiding in sewer installation costs. • The committee is awaiting a reply from Ruekert & Mielke regarding the Merle Peppers property on Hi-Y Drive and also for the Laabs property on Hillendale Drive. The committee is still $waiting asbilt plans from the Metropolitan Sewerage Commission in regard to the Jerome Brad property on Ruby Dr. The committee scheduled an informal hearing regarding sewer easements along South Denoon Road for proposed sewers in that area, hearing to be August 29, 1972, at 8:00 P.M. in the city hall. It was the committee's decision that sewers could be made available to the Farnsworth property if it were for a business development under the present zoning and if the cost of the extention were paid by the developer. The committee is awaiting a reply from consulting engineers concerning the possible sewering of the Linnie Lac area. The committee is awaiting a list of non -hookups in the "F" District. The following claims were received: From Otto Kurth regarding ground dumped on his property west of Kurth Park. Property damage at Terry Buss residence on Sherwood Circle. The following correspondence was reviewed: • From Mayor Gottfried to Don Otto regarding status of sewer project • handled by Ed Ryan Construction Company, dated 7/13/72. From Mayor Gottfried directed to Robert Marcheschi, Hillendale Dr., advising him of the committee's decision to deny his request for sewer service. ,,From Mayor Gottfried to Arnold Brzezinski, Hi-Y Drive, advising him of the committee's decision to deny his request that sewers be ex- tended up Dimandl Drive. To Bell-Reichl Co. from Ruekert & Mielke regarding oxidation lagoons. From Harold DeBack to Sewer Committee requesting recommendation as to availability of sewers for Mus-kee-quak Subdivision. • Ald. Knudsen moved to recommend denial Lazynski-Beck development. Seconded by City Attorney Buckley. 40 • Public Sewer Committee 7/17/72 Page 2. of sewer service to the proposed Ald. Dumke. Matter referred to The committee discussed the request for sanitary sewers by Ray Wallner to serve the former Loomis property on Racine Avenue. This request was deferred pending submittal of information relative to proposed development and its density. It was the committee's decision to recommend to the Council sewer service to the area north of McShane Road presently owned by DeBack-Wallner and Jack Radtke & Associates subject to the installation of holding tanks which would permit the sewage to be treated in off peak hours. Ruekert & Mielke will be contacted regarding the feasibility of this. Mayor Gottfried to draft a letter to citizens in the Glenbrook Subdivision area regarding progress of sewer installation in that area. The Clerk's office will be requested to gather together all claims in the "G" District. The committee recommended that a resolution be presented for Common Council approval directing Ruekert & Mielke to prepare plans and specs for sewer for Freedom Acres and adjacent areas. Ald.
