PSEM19700902r PUBLIC SEWER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 2, 1970 Present were Mayor Gottfried, Aldermen Sapp, Wollman and Burgermeister and Building Inspector Lee. Minutes of meeting held August 19, 1970, were reviewed and placed on file. Mr. and Mrs. Iry Arndt appeared at the meeting regarding a notice they had received from Greater Milwaukee Realty, dated August 31, 1970, to vacate their home. The letter referred to the city's action regarding sewer hook-ups. They requested an extension of time for owner to hook up. Burgermeister moved to defer action until meeting of September 16, 1970. Seconded by Wollman. Motion carried. Mr. Ron Ford, S64 W18431 Topaz Dr. appeared to question the assessment of a ten (10) foot easement included within assessment of Property Tax Key #2174.978. Engineer Ruekert & Mielke to recheck parcel for error in assessment. Mr. Masterson of Dandelion Park appeared before the committee regarding sewer service charges and meter charges. Ordinance #127, As Amended, will be reviewed with Attorney Buckley before any action is taken. • The meeting recessed at 8:01 P.M. and reconvened at 8:21 P.M. Ald. Burgermeister moved to waive the laterals listed below. Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried. Building Inspector Lee to check asbilt plans before any action is taken. A letter dated August 6, 1970, from the Sewerage Commission of the City of Milwaukee was read and placed on file. • Building Inspector Lee to obtain statement of employees of Lakeside Tool Co., Horn Bros. Feed Store and the A&P Food Store before any action taken re- garding the sewer service charges and meter charges of these premises. Letter received from R. Lainey with reference to Assessment #C-596, dated August 31, 1970, was read and placed on file. Discussion took place regarding the city forcing hook-ups on properties listed in the minutes of July 6, 1970. It was decided that Engineers Ruekert & Mielke would draw up specifications before any action would be taken regarding the bidding. The assessment of Marcella Hansen, W183 S6495 Jewel Crest Drive was discussed. Burgermeister moved to defer action until Engineers Ruekert & Mielke would furnish what policy was used on Assessment #260 on Jewel Crest Drive. Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried. r Public Sewer Committee City of Muskego 9/2/70 Page 2. Wollman moved that Mr. Arthur D. Johnson combine ownership of lots 199 20 and 21 Blk. 4 of Hillview Plat into one (1) ownership &hd Engineers Ruekert & Mielke re-evaluate the assessment of the property. Seconded by Sapp. Motion carried. Letter from Muskego-Norway School District, dated August 21, 1970, was read. It was decided that Mr. Kreuser be invited to the next Sewer Committee meeting to discuss the assessment policy used on the Bay Lane School. Letter from Cathlina Construction Co., dated September 2, 1970, was read and referred to Ruekert & Mielke. Building Inspector Lee reported that there were three (3) laterals installed on the Joe Gaffney properties, Lots # 20, 21 and 22 of the Muskego Shores Subdivision. Based on a report from Building Inspector Lee, Mr. Gaffney's request was denied. Sapp moved to recommend to the Council the acceptance of the following bids: Sewers Streets Projects MSS-7-70 Cathlina Const. $ 216,790.50 $ 28,000.00 Projects MSS-8-70 L & R Const. Co. 180,125.00 18,270.00 Seconded by Wollman. Motion carried. Resolution #174-70 referring to the deferment of sewer assessment of the George Schaefer property was discussed. Wollman moved to recommend to the Council the approval of Resolution #174-70. Seconded by Ald. Sapp. Motion carried. Burgermeister moved to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Sapp. Motion carried.
