PWAM198605150 PUBLIC WATER COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 15, 1986 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Hilt. Also present were Committee Member Patterson, Mayor Salentine, Willard Bertram, Ald. DeAngelis and Dale Lofquist. Ald. Dumke was absent. Highway Superintendent Bertram reported that the stuck water valve located in the Industrial Park has been repaired. The projected water service area map that was supplied by City Engineer Ken Ward was reviewed. The report recommended that the Committee proceed in having all wells that have a potential of being connected to the Water Utility tested for purity as well as radium. Ald. Patterson moved to direct the City Engineers to test the wells in Guernsey Meadows, Kristin Downs, Bay Lane School, Muskego High School, Freedom Square, Sentry, Anamax and Pioneer Center. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried. Mr. Dale Lofquist appeared before the Committee requesting water service to the north of the projected service area. A petition was before the Committee on September 10, 1985, wherein they • requested to be included in this area. At this time it is questionable whether the present water tower being serviced by the two existing connected wells have the capability of serving this request. It was noted that the connecting of additional wells could expand the immediate service area. Ald. Patterson moved to recommend that the future billing for water service be done on a quarterly basis. Ald. Hilt seconded, motion carried. The survey letter to be sent to the residents listed in the Waste Management agreement was approved and the Clerk is requested to mail to the affected residents. This letter will obtain the necessary information to finalize specifications for bidding the project. The Committee is interested in providing water service to the Hillendale request and extending the water service east on Highway 24 to include Bay Lane School. Ald. Hilt moved to request the Finance Consultant to determine the feasibility of providing a deferred assessment on large parcels of undeveloped land when watermains are extended past such property. Seconded by Ald. Patterson,.motion carried. The water tower is being drawn down so that painting can 40 commence. Public Water Committee - Page 2 May 15, 1986 Superintendent Bertram reported that Enders Construction Co. had placed additional fill in the area of the water tower at a cost of $700. The Committee agreed that the decision to have the grading done by Enders was timely since their construction equipment was available. The Committee noted that they were in agreement with installation of the additional 30 feet of storm sewer pipe recommended by Na- Con Services, Inc. in the amount of $360.00. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M. ca • • Respectfully submitted, Ald. Patrick Patterson Secretary
