The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Hilt.
Also present were Committee Member DeAngelis, Mayor Salentine,
Chief E. J. Salentine (Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Dept.), Mrs.
E. J. Salentine, Mr. Carl Mack (Muskego Volunteer Fire Dept.),
Mr. Dan Butler (Ruekert & Mielke) and Financial Consultant Seegar
Swanson.
City Engineer Butler presented a written report which contained
the following information:
1. Elevated Tank
2. Controls for operating of tower
3. Water Main to Waste Management
4. Certified Waterworks Operator
5. Water Rates
6. Ordinance Establishing Water Utility
7. Stuck Valve in Industrial Park
Financial Consultant Swanson presented a written financial report
listing four options for front foot assessments and MAC
charges. After considerable discussion, the Committee
• recommended for the Public Hearing a $16.00 per front foot
assessment for Commercial & Industrial and a $14.00 per front
foot assessment for Residential, with a MAC (Minimum Assessment
Connection) charge of $475. The MAC equals meter size and type
of 3/4" disk - 25 gallons per minute.
The Committee directed Supt. Bertram to dig up the area in the
vicinity of the Water Tower so that the stuck valve problem can
be reviewed.
Engineer Butler stated that the High Radium Counts were not a
problem in the construction of Muskego Water Utility. He
indicated that a deeper well drilled in a soft sandstone could
have radium problems such as some subidivision wells.
Engineer Butler indicated that the tower was filled and sanitized
and that water could be consumed at this time. At a later date
the tower will be emptied, sandblasted, painted and sanitized for
permanent use. He estimates it will be from four to six weeks.
New controls still have to be installed to operate well pump.
Old control system will be replaced.
The Highway 24 to Crowbar Water Project field work is being
completed and the Bid date will be set for early July 1986, with
completion scheduled for September 1986. The estimated cost will
be $500,000 for the water extension to Crowbar.
