MINUTES OF MEETING HELD WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 9, 1995
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Chairman
Patterson. Also present were Committee Members Suhr and
Salentine, Mayor David L. De Angelis, Supt. John Loughney and
those per the attached list.
The Committee noted that the meeting was posted on August 4,
1995, in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
The Committee discussed the status of Recycling. Ald. Suhr
moved to send a letter to Mr. Chuck Ott, BFI, requesting that
he forward the complaint logs to Supt. Loughney, or formal
action will be taken. Seconded by Ald. Salentine, motion
carried 3-0.
The Committee discussed status of Cable TV. Mayor De Angelis
will contact Bev Greenberg regarding the change of meeting date
and advise her of meeting date for September.
The Committee discussed status of Landfill Agreements.
Negotiations are finalizing for the Metro -East Landfill. It
was noted that Attorney Hudec will shortly be filing a
• Complaint with the State of Wisconsin Circuit Court against
Waste Management of Wisconsin, Inc. for monies due the City
through the Stoneridge I and Stoneridge II Landfill
Agreements. There was nothing new to report on the status of
the PRP-East Troy Landfill.
The Committee reviewed memorandum from City Clerk Jean Marenda,
dated July 27, 1995, which questioned what the 1996
Refuse/Recycling rate will be for 1996. Ald. Suhr moved that
the rates will remain the same to the citizens, and that the 3
to 3-1/2% increase will be covered by the State Recycling and
Landfill monies received. Seconded by Ald. Salentine, motion
carried 3-0.
City Clerk Marenda's memorandum of July 27, 1995, also
questioned the if they were receptive to go to a quarterly
billing system in the future. Ald. Suhr moved to deny request
and to continue with the Refuse/Recycling being a line item on
the tax bill based on the cost effectiveness of the bills not
being mailed four times a year. Seconded by Ald. Salentine,
motion carried 3-0.
Mr. Dan Riva appeared before the Committee to request approval
for installation of a Holding Tank for his property addressed
W151 510178 Thode Drive. Ald. Suhr moved to recommend approval
• waiving the need for a performance bond. Seconded by Ald.
Patterson, motion carried 3-0.

• Janis Bergersen appeared before the Committee to request a
Holding Tank for her mother's property, W124 S8236 North Cape
Road, in order for the sale of her home to take place. Ald.
Suhr moved to recommend approval of the Holding Tank subject to
the potential buyer's signature(s) being secured and the
Committee agreed to waive the performance bond. Seconded by
Ald. Salentine, motion carried 3-0.
Chairman Patterson advised the Committee that great progress is
being made to cable the Aldermen's Room for live TV. Warner
Cable Company will install equipment for live TV next week.
Once completed, all Committee meetings to be aired live will
have abbreviated agendas run on the character generator and
hopefully September meeting will be aired. The news media
should be contacted to promote live airing.
Ald. Suhr moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 P.M. Seconded
by Ald. Salentine, motion carried 3-0.
