PWM19950712• PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD WEDNESDAY, JULY 12, 1995 The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Chairman Patterson. Also present were Committee Members Suhr and Salentine, Public Works Superintendent John Loughney and Charles Ott (BFI). The Committee noted that the meeting was posted on July 7, 1995, in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. Mr. Charles Ott appeared before the Committee to discuss status of Recycling and concerns raised by the Committee at the June meeting. Mr. Ott reported that the College Court drop-off site has been reconfigured to facilitate traffic flow and that no problems have been observed during the past month as described in the attached letter from Mark Clark, Operations Manger, BFI, dated July 12, 1995, attached. The Committee discussed letter of July 11, 1995, from Bev Greenberg, Warner Cable, inviting the Committee to be part of the group selected to try their new converter box. The Committee declined the offer as they feel that it would be in conflict with their Code of Ethics. • The Committee reviewed correspondence dated July 7, 1995, from Tom Sharrard, Warner Cable Communications in regard to their management committee. The Committee requested that a letter be sent to Warner Cable requesting their technical assistance for placement of cable equipment in the Aldermen's Room. Also, Recreation Director Gordon Jacobson is requested to attend the August meeting to present an update on completed plans for cabling of Aldermen's Room. There was nothing new to report on Status of Landfill Agreements or PRP Status of East Troy Landfill. The Committee reviewed memorandum supplied by Plan Director Matt Sadowski on the status of the Glockner property. Ald. Salentine moved to approve granting of Recycling license subject to quarterly inspections. Seconded by Ald. Suhr, motion carried. The Committee discussed status of recycling of telephone books. Chuck Ott, BFI, reported that telephone books are now recyclable items and would be accepted in the recycling bins. The Committee reviewed procedures and applications for event . taping and airing requests. Ald. Salentine moved to accept event taping/airing request procedures and application form, attached, as presented by Recreation Director Jacobson. Seconded by Ald. Suhr, motion carried.
