MINUTES OF MEETING HELD THURSDAY, JANUARY 12, 1995
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. by Chairman
Patterson. Also present were Committee Member D'Acquisto and
Mayor De Angelis.
The Committee noted that the amended meeting notice was posted on
1/11/95 in compliance with the Open Meeting Law.
The Committee reviewed the status of Recycling. The following
items were noted:
1. Newsletter not yet distributed.
2. New Recycling schedule information not received.
3. Recycling information on cardboard not received.
4. Complaints on quality of service and related issues.
Ald. D'Acquisto moved that unless newsletter has been sent out by
BFI by Wednesday, January 18, 1995, that the City will send out ad
and bill all costs to BFI. Seconded by Ald. Patterson, motion
carried. Mayor De Angelis was requested to send a letter to BFI
in regard to the Committee's dissatisfaction with the quality of
service and concerns.
• The Committee reviewed the status of Cable TV. The Committee
requested that a letter be sent to the Cable Club asking for a
representative to appear at the February meeting to discuss status
of wiring for Aldermen's room and School Board meeting room. Ald.
D'Acquisto moved to request that the Cable Club, at the February
meeting, also be ready to respond to complaints received on the
scroll system as to speed, type faces, legibility and content.
Seconded by Ald. Patterson, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed status of landfill agreements.
Stoneridge Landfill - Contract discussed and City will proceed
with action.
Emerald Park Landfill - Landfill up and running.
Future Parkland (Briggs & Stratton) - All payments are current.
Metro -Landfill East Expansion (Waste Management) - Proposed
contracts were to be received by end of 1994. Have not yet been
received.
East Troy Landfill - Ald. D'Acquisto moved to recommend not
participating in potential PRP response group. Seconded by Ald.
. Patterson, motion carried.
The Committee discussed composting and determined that they will
continue to monitor and will take action when necessary.

• The Committee discussed amendment to BFI Contract which would
include service for the fire stations at no cost, as is currently
in effect for city -owned buildings. Ald. D'Acquisto moved to
recommend approval of amendment. Seconded by Ald. Patterson,
motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 8:27 P.M.
