PWM19941006• PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSREGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD THURSDAY, OCTOBER 6, 1994 The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M by Chairman Patterson. Also present were Committee Members Dumke and D'Acquisto, Public Works Superintendent John Loughney and Mayor De Angelis (arrived at 8:20 P.M.). The Committee noted that the meeting was posted in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. The Committee discussed status of recycling. Cardboard and chipboard will be picked up starting January 1, 1995. Supt. Loughney directed to check with BFI to determine how they want it packaged or set aside. There were minor complaints regarding trash not being in receptacles and/or bags and being torn open by animals. The Committee discussed status of Cable TV. A discussion was held regarding Muskego Public Access Group and taping committee meetings. Cable Club representatives asked to appear at next meeting and policy discussion to be put on the agenda. The Committee discussed status of landfill agreements. Mayor • reported on Emerald Park Landfill Standing Committee which is ready to open November 1, 1994, if insurance issue is resolved. City will receive monthly fees for dumping based upon volume put into landfill. Annual fee to be $66,000 with possible additional fee for excess usage. Mayor reported that the Metro Landfill -East Siting Committee is currently in Closed Session and details will be reported when made public. Stoneridge Landfill is anticipated to begin leachate pumping the week of October 17, 1994. Future Parkland Landfill (Briggs & Stratton) is entering their 8th year of operation and payments will be increased. A discussion was held on bond requirements for Holding Tanks. Ald. D'Acquisto moved to remove bond requirement for recently approved Holding Tank for Emerald Park Landfill. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. It is the Committee's intent to review bond requirement on a case to case basis. The Committee deferred discussion on procedure for implementation of Recycling Stickers as no new information was available. The meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M. Respectfully submitted, • Ald.
