PWM19940908• PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 1994 The meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. by Chairman Patterson. Also present were Committee Member Dumke, and those per the attached list. Ald. D'Acquisto was absent. The Committee discussed status of Recycling. Public Works Superintendent John Loughney will check with BFI to insure that all refuse and recycling is picked up on Union Church Road. Mr. Jeff Jones and Mrs. Jane Drake appeared before the Committee to discuss 1995 Budget Request for a Station Coordinator to work ten (10) hours a week at $6.00/hour. The Committee sent request to the Finance Committee without a recommendation. Mr. Jones and Mrs. Drake also discussed 1995 budget increase for the Public Access Channel of $500.00 over 1994; 1995 Budget increased to $1,500.00. They will also be submitting a Capital Budget request for $6,000.00 for equipment. Ald. Patterson moved to recommend approval of 1995 Operating Budget and Capital Budget requests. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. It was noted that Wausau Insurance Company has denied a claim from Warner Cable Company for damage done by the Public Works • Department to buried cable. The Committee read memorandum from Mayor De Angelis advising that a majority of the members of the Metro East Landfill Siting Committee have verbally agreed to hold their meetings on the first and third Tuesday of the month. Verification should be received shortly. The Committee reviewed memorandum from Mayor De Angelis along with a letter received from the Director of Religious Education at St. Leonard Parish asking the Committee to limit Trick Or Treat Hours to two (2) hours and also not to start until after 1:00 P.M. Ald. Dumke moved to recommend Sunday, October 30, 1994, as the official Trick Or Treat day for 1994 for the City of Muskego from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Seconded by Ald. Patterson, motion carried. The Committee reviewed 1995 Recycling Budget. Chairman Patterson will work with Supt. Loughney and submit to the State before October 1, 1994. Mr. Don Henrichs, representing Emerald Park Landfill, appeared before the Committee to review application for Temporary Trailer permit for the Emerald Park property on So. 124th Street. Ald. Patterson moved to recommend approval of Temporary Trailer for six (6) months, subject to approval of site by Building Inspection . Department. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Mr. Henrichs also appeared before the Committee to request approval for a Holding Tank for the Emerald Park property. Ald.
