PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD THURSDAY, MAY 12, 1994
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Acting Chairman
Dumke. Also present were Committee Member D'Acquisto and Mayor
De Angelis. Chairman Patterson and Public Works Superintendent
John Loughney were excused.
The Committee discussed status of Recycling and the July 1,
1994 mandatory recycling. Mayor De Angelis will contact BFI
regarding customer notification.
There was nothing new to report on the Status of Cable TV.
The Committee discussed status of Landfill Agreements. Ald.
Dumke advised that the Franklin Metro East Negotiating
Committee have commenced meetings to work out a new agreement.
The Committee reviewed Agreement between City of Muskego and
Humane Animal Welfare Society and the following increases from
previous agreement were noted:
1. Pickup and transport charge increased from 28(P per
mile and $13.00 per trip to 30(r per mile and $13.50
per trip.
2. Daily charge increased from $7.25 to $7.50.
3. City liability for seven day period increased from
$50.75 to $52.50.
4. Owner handling charge increased from $14.00 to $14.50
Ald. Dumke moved to recommend approval of new contract with
HAWS commencing July 1, 1994 to June 30, 1995. Seconded by
Ald. D'Acquisto, motion carried.
The Committee reviewed memorandum from Information Systems
Director Joe Sommers, dated May 12, 1994, outlining suggested
software need to allow Refuse/Recycling to be tracked. This
will enable adding and changing customers and charges; allowing
conversion from the existing customer list, an interface from
Cash Receipts, and the ability to deliver the appropriate
information to Waukesha County to add to the tax bill. The
cost of customization is:
HTE changes $4,080
BRC changes 2,520
TOTAL $6,600
• Ald. D'Acquisto moved to approve purchase with $3,300 to be
taken from Refuse Account 100.3000.2400, and the remaining

• $3,300.00 to be taken from Recycling Account 100.0000.0360.
Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
