PWM19930714*CORRECTED • PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD WEDNESDAY, JULY 14, 1993 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Patterson. Also present were Committee Members Schneider and Dumke, Mayor De Angelis and Public Works Superintendent John Loughney. The Committee discussed City-wide garbage/recycling and established the following additional criteria: 1. Size of container: 64 gallon 2. City will purchase containers with State funds; charge to be incorporated into total annual charge to be put on tax bill. 3. Up to six units will be allowed for individual container; over six to be put into dumpsters. 4. All units to be clearly identified as to contents. 5. New construction will receive service upon receipt of Occupancy Permit. 6. Mother-in-law units will be treated as a separate residence. 7. Agricultural properties and parsonages will not be considered as "exempt" properties. • 8. Garbage will be picked up weekly; recycling will be biweekly. 9. Large items will be picked on specific dates; twice yearly. 10. White goods and tires will be picked up on a per charge basis. 11. Specifications should be written for a five year cost and a two year option; with prices to be guaranteed for two years and then future years with no more than the cost of living increase, based upon initial/contract and price. 12. Public Works Department will require special provisions for dumping of miscellaneous trash. 13. Public Hearing will be held prior to awarding of bid. 14. Contract specifications to be reviewed at August meeting. The Committee determined that Chairman Patterson and Mayor De Angelis will put together specifications on all that has been agreed upon by the Committee and solicit quotes. The Committee discussed Status of Cable TV. The Committee directs that a letter be sent to Bev Greenberg, Warner Cable, to inquire why the homes on Kelsey Drive and Keiser Road have not had their'cable buried. The Committee reviewed Salvage & Recycling Permit for Glockner (S71 W13219 Tess Corners Drive) along with memorandum from Plan Director Larry Kirch noting no violations upon site inspection. Ald.
