PWM19930113• PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13, 1993 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Patterson. Also present were Committee Member Schneider, Mayor Salentine and those per the attached list. The Committee had nothing to discussion the status of Recycling or the status of Cable TV. Representatives from Future Parkland appeared before the Committee to negotiate the financial compensation to the City for bringing in two additional waste streams to include lime desulfurization slag and demolition materials from Briggs & Stratton Operation Plants at Future Parkland Landfill on January 19, 1993. Ald. Patterson moved to approve to set an annual fee for this expansion to be $7,500. Payments are due January 1 of each year, covering disposal for that calendar year. These payments shall be in addition to the payments provided for in Section 7 of the Final Negotiated Agreement for the Future Parkland Development Landfill, dated July 1, 1986; and the payments and the disposal of the additional waste streams are subject to the same terms and conditions of that Agreement. Seconded by Ald. Schneider, motion carried • Jan Schlabowski, Soil Remediation Service, Inc. appeared before the Committee to discuss proposed Soil Treatment Facility at Payne & Dolan Stone Quarry. The Committee agrees with the concept and acknowledges that DNR approval and Plan Commission approval is required. Representatives from the Muskego-Norway AODA Committee appeared to request the City of Muskego's endorsement for the Parent -To -Parent program. Ald. Schneider moved to recommend Council endorsement of the program. Seconded by Ald. Patterson, motion carried. Representatives from Emerald Park Landfill appeared to discuss yard compost facility at the Emerald Park site and financial benefit to the City. The present volumes of yard waste at the BFI site are to be provided to the representatives. This item will continue to be discussed at the February meeting. The meeting adjourned at 10:05 P.M.
