MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 18, 1992
The meeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. by Chairman
Patterson. Also present were Committee Member D. Sanders, Mayor
Salentine, Supervisor Frank DeAngelis and Recycling Coordinator
Henry Posbrig.
The Committee discussed status of Recycling. Lids and containers
have been selling at the bi-monthly Recycling at Stoneridge
Landfill. Advertising magnets are on back -order. The Committee
discussed a cover letter to be delivered with magnets explaining
Recycling and possibly including a questionnaire to be filled out
and returned to the City.
The Committee discussed possible advertising for Recycling in the
Spring Parks & Recreation brochure. Details will be worked out
with the Recreation Department.
Henry Posbrig reported that he had received an inquiry from Paul
Fara, Gateway Technical College, regarding utilizing our newspaper
for animal bedding. The Committee discussed and Henry will
continue discussion with Mr. Fara to determine if the College
would be responsible for all costs involved for hauling to the
• College. Tonnage figures will be provided to Mr. Fara.
The Committee discussed Cable TV. At the Public Hearing for the
Cable Franchise Transfer, Mr. Gary Owens (Warner Cable Co.)
indicated that Parker Drive was scheduled for connection in Spring
of 1992. It was noted that the Cable Franchise Transfer has still
not been signed. A request has been received to tape School Board
meetings. The Committee directed that a letter be sent to Warner
Cable requesting them to cable Henneberry Drive.
The Committee discussed the proposed Franklin Metro Landfill
Agreement. Ald. Patterson moved to recommend Council approval of
the Franklin Metro Landfill Agreement. Seconded by Ald. D.
Sanders, motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 10:30 P.M.
