PWM19920115PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 15, 1992
The meeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. by Chairman
Patterson. Also present was Committee Member D. Sanders and Henry
Posbrig.
The Committee discussed the status of Recycling and requested that
"curbside recycling" be put on the February agenda. A letter will
be mailed to all residents who did not receive the original
Recycling Bin card advising that bins can be picked up at the
Stoneridge Landfill Recycling Center on the first and third
Saturday of February. A newspaper ad will be placed to advertise
lids when they become available. A wood chipper was acquired for
the Public Works Department using State recycling funds. Henry
Posbrig will check into nonskid stair tread material for steps at
the Recycling Center.
The Committee reviewed correspondence from Warner Cable advising
of the agreement with Toshiba Corporation and C. Itoh & Co., Ltd.
to create a partnership at the subsidiary level to be known as
Time Warner Entertainment Company, L.P. and requests that the
draft resolution be sent to Attorney Molter to review and to
inquire if there are grounds for further improvements, monetary or
otherwise, to City of Muskego in exchange for the City's
agreement, particularly as it affects the Cable Club.
The Committee noted that the Stoneridge Landfill Negotiating
Committee finalized the agreement and the Metro Landfill
Negotiating Committee will finalize their agreement shortly.
The Committee discussed providing recycling bins for City
Departments and felt that if the departments are going to use them
for recycling, the Committee would encourage their use.
The Committee discussed removal of Recycling Sign on Janesville
Road right-of-way at Parkland Mall and directed Superintendent
Loughney to remove sign as soon as weather permits. It was
requested that St. Francis Bank and Parkland Mall be notified that
it will be removed.
The meeting adjourned at 9:00 P.M.
