MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 6, 1991
The meeting was called to order at 7:10 P.M. by Chairman
Patterson. Also present were Committee Member D. Sanders,
Recycling Coordinator Henry Posbrig and Deputy City Clerk Carol
Cichocki. Ald. Simmons was absent.
The Committee discussed status of Recycling. Tulip Plastics has a
recycling container with optional lids. The cost is around $4.00
a tub and $2.50 a lid. A letter is requested to be written to the
Muskego Historical Society to inquire if there organization would
be interested in distributing the containers from their site.
They would be reimbursed 250 per container distributed. An
inquiry will also be made of Supt. Loughney to determine the cost
of a new chipper in case it is needed.
The Committee will formulate a flyer to promote Recycling to be
handed out at the Community Festival.
The Committee reviewed status of Cable TV.
The negotiating committee for the Franklin Metro Landfill has
scheduled a meeting for August 29th. Stoneridge Landfill
• Negotiating Committee is meeting on August 19th. Waste Management
is attempting to start composting operation at the Franklin site
which will be available to City of Muskego residents.
The Committee discussed composting. The Franklin Metro Landfill
is still accepting compost material.
The Committee worked with the Deputy Clerk to complete budget
which is required for the state recycling grant application.
Ald. Dave Sanders will contact the State, Waukesha County and
Peltz Bros. to compile an updated list of recycling items.
The Committee reviewed possible participation in Milwaukee White
Page Directory recycling. Ald. Patterson will check further and
the matter will be discussed at the September meeting.
