PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 9, 1989
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman
Patterson. Also present were Committee Members Dumke and
Simmons, and Mayor Salentine.
The Committee reviewed status of Cable TV. The Committee noted
that 36 drops on Loomis Drive and old Highway 36 have not been
completed. A letter sent to Reid Ingersoll was reviewed which
requested that Reid attend tonight's meeting to further discuss
delinquent franchise payments, maintenance of equipment, etc. The
Committee determined that either Ald. Patterson or Ald. Simmons
will meet with Reid Ingersoll in regard to the above.
The Committee discussed landfills. Mayor Salentine reported that
Assembly Bill 689, relating to the number of solid waste disposal
facilities in a community, has been introduced at the State
level.
Recycling is still progressing at a steady level. There is need
for more recycling items at the 3rd Saturday of the month drop-
off. The Committee will discuss further the need for more public
releases to the media to encourage citizen use. The Committee
requested that the City Clerk send a letter to Karen Fiedler,
Waukesha County, requesting flyers be provided to the City to be
inserted with the tax bill and inquire if there is any grant
money available to pay for the flyers.
Chairman Patterson reported that Youth Activities will have a
function on the first Saturday of January and the first Saturday
of February.
The Committee reviewed 3rd Quarter Landfill report from Muskego
Landfill and noted that there has been a drop due to space
available. The Committee will continue to monitor.
The Committee will discuss composting at their next meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
