MINUTES
OF MEETING HELD
SEPTEMBER
13, 1989
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman
Patterson. Also in attendance were Committee Member Simmons,
Reid Ingersoll, Ken and Mary Johnson and Karen Reith.
The Committee reviewed results of questionnaire that was mailed
to all High School students with their registration
information. The following responses were received:
Freshman Class 90 (38 responded that they
would participate)
Sophmore Class 60 (24 responded that they
would participate)
Junior Class 30 (24 responded that they
would participate - 6
indicated that they may
participate)
Senior Class 18 (14 responded that they
would participate - 4
• indicated that they may
participate)
A comment was made on the questionnaire that more students would
have responded if it had been handed out at Registration. The
Committee determined that "seed money" would be needed and that
the five organizations involved in the Youth Activities Program
would each raise and contribute $150.00. Events will be held on
the 3rd Saturday of every month if there are no conflicts with
the school calendar. The Core Committee will act as controlling
operation managers and will contact the Police Department for
security purposes.
The Committee reviewed the monthly Recycling operation. Ken and
Mary Johnson, representing the Muskego Flames Girls' Baseball
Team (Waukesha County) appeared before the Committee to express
an interest in joining the monthly recycling. The Committee
approved the Baseball Team to take the December 16th date.
A letter will be sent to all organizations who have taken part in
the Recycling Program inviting them to the October 11th Public
Welfare Committee meeting to review past activities and future
plans.
Reid Ingersoll appeared before the Committee to discuss Cable
TV.
• I. Woods Road has been completed and service
considerations were given to these customers.

2. Ingersoll Corporation is working with Wisconsin
Electric Power Company to complete burying of
drops, as well as another Contractor.
3. Line upgrade services are in progress as required
by Federal Regulations.
4. A marketing questionnaire will be mailed to the
public on sports and shopping channels.
The Committee discussed Franchise Payment due the City for the
first half of 1989. Reid Ingersoll stated that the first half of
the payment will be paid by September 30, 1989, and the second
half will be paid by October 31, 1989, plus the 12% interest fee.
A letter sent to Mayor Salentine on August 7, 1989, from Ken
Karpowitz, S70 W17390 Jewell Court, was reviewed in regarding to
a dispute in billing for certain channels. Mr. Ingersoll will
send an explanation letter to Mr. Karpowitz with a copy to be
sent to the Public Welfare Committee.
The Future Parkland Development monitoring report was reviewed
• and placed on file.
The Committee discussed upcoming Trick or Treat in the City of
Muskego and recommended Sunday, October 29, 1:00 P.M. to 4:00
P.M. to be the hours designated for Trick or Treat.
The Committee reviewed report from Muskego Landfill on Gate Yard
to Tons for the 2nd Quarter of 1989. The Committee requests that
information be supplied to them to compare Fall to Summer fill
increases.
