PWM19880804• PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 4, 1988
The meeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. by Chairman
Patterson. Also present were Committee Member Taube and John
Ingersoll.
Mr. John Ingersoll informed the Committee that due to
computerizing his accounting system, the semi-annual fee based on
gross sales, due August 1, 1988, will be delayed until September
15, 1988. Mr. Ingersoll is aware of the yearly rate of 12%
interest penalty.
The Committee reviewed Cable TV status. Correspondence from
George Vogel and the Office of Consumer Protection was discussed,
along with public spot commercials, and completion of Cable
System by February of 1989.
The Committee reviewed 2nd Quarter Muskego Landfill Gate Yards to
Ton report supplied by Waste Management and placed on file.
Further discussion was held on Parks Supervisor's request for an
amendment to Chapter 26.01 of the Municipal Code to prohibit
• animals in City Parks. A memorandum dated June 21, 1988 from
Supervisor Theis was reviewed. The Committee determined that a
change in the ordinance requiring people to pick up animal waste
would be preferred to outlawing of pets. Ald. Taube requests
that Park Supervisor Theis contact him to further discuss.
The Committee reviewed Resolution #143-20, Statement of Intent
Regarding Recycling of Solid Waste, and Resolution #143-21,
Initial Intent Resolution Regarding Solid Waste Flow Control
Pursuant to Section 144.794, Wisconsin Statutes, as supplied by
County Supervisor George Guhr. It was noted that a public forum
will be held in the future on information on these areas and the
City will be notified of date and time.
The meeting adjourned at 9:25 P.M.
