PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 125 1988
The meeting was called to order at 8:10 P.M. by Chairman
Patterson. Also present were Committee Member Taube, Mayor
Salentine, and those per the attached list. Ald. Penovich was
absent.
The Committee reviewed the Cable TV Status. The Committee
requests that the Clerk's Office contact John Ingersoll to check
on quality of emergency warning system. A loud 'hum" feedback
was noticed on the first couple of announcements.
The Committee requests that Ingersoll be contacted regarding
promotion of Green Up Muskego at the landfill site and Parkland
Mall on cable broadcast.
Waste Management will be providing a four compartment dumpster
for recycling purposes to be located at Parkland Mall during
Green Up Muskego.
The Committee discussed with representatives from Waste
Management the contract for the Muskego Landfill. The original
contract has not been executed due to possible changes. The
terms of the agreement for annual renewal will remain at $25,000
and will be prorated through March 31, 1989. Free dumping will
also be provided and the negotiations for the balance of 1989
will commence in August. Waste Management representatives will
be contacting Ald. Patterson.
Mayor Salentine discussed with the representatives of Waste
Management if they would be receptive to review an interim
agreement that City Attorney is drafting for the proposed sewer
project on Highway 24. The purpose for this agreement is to
protect the Utility in the event that the project never becomes
finalized and the advantage to Waste Management is that the City
would continue to proceed with the engineering costs while the
final agreement is being drafted.
The Committee reviewed request for a Holding Tank for George
Steinhaus for property located at S107 W16280 Loomis Drive. Ald.
Patterson moved to recommend approval. Seconded by Ald. Taube,
motion carried.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on
file.
The meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
