Also present was Committee Member DeAngelis, Police Chief Johnson, Public Works Loughney and those per the attached list. • • by Chairman Taube, Ald. Superintendent John Discussion continued on the deferred request to upgrade and extend the time for holding facilities for dogs. The Public Works Superintendent stated that he felt his department was maintaining the facilities and that the type of facilities requested would not enhance the Public Works building. The two representatives from HAWS reported that they were opposed to an extended time frame and would provide a pickup service on a timely basis including Sunday pickup. The intent for the future is to expand HAWS service to communities which will provide a collection as well as transport services in Waukesha County. HAWS pointed out that an upgrading of the cages would improve the humane handling of the animals. The financial report prepared by the Clerk's office indicated that the animal welfare program generates $2,200 of revenue. Ald. Patterson moved to refer to the Finance Committee to investigate cost of two new larger cages. Seconded by Ald. Taube, motion carried. Chief Johnson reviewed tornado watch and warning service messages to be broadcast over the cable television system during the upcoming storm season as a public service. The Committee had further discussion on a holding tank request for Mr. Ken Brown, W126 S9485 No. Cape Road. The Committee deferred action and requested the Clerk's Office to send a letter to Mr. Brown informing him that before any approval can be given a perk test of the property has to be obtained.
