PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 28, 1987
The meeting was called to order at 8:03 P.M. by Chairman
Patterson. Also present were Committee Members Penovich and
Taube, Mayor Salentine and Ald. DeAngelis, and those per the
attached list.
Mr. John Ingersoll appeared before the Committee and informed the
Committee that the City will receive the overdue Franchise
Payment for the first half of 1987 on October 29, 1987.
The Committee reviewed with Mr. John Ingersoll the restoration
complaints and areas of Muskego that are still to be cabled.
A discussion was held with Mr. John Ingersoll in regard to his
request for the City to relinquish his present $50,000
performance bond and, in turn, he has presented to the city a
Letter of Credit in the amount of $50,000, which will terminate
on December 31, 1987. Prior to the termination of the Letter of
Credit, he will present the City with a new Performance Bond in
the amount of $50,000. The lending institution that he has the
existing bond with is in financial difficulties and Mr. Ingersoll
would like to terminate the present bond and reissue the City a
new bond prior to 1988. Ald. Penovich moved to approve subject
to the review with the City Attorney. Seconded by Ald. Taube,
motion carried.
Mr. George Meinholz, Muskego Landfill, and Mr. Kevin O'Toole and
Atty. Jim Morgan from Waste Management appeared before the
Committee to request a continuation of the existing contract for
the Muskego Landfill for a period of three to four years; with a
possible reduction of fee to the City of $10,000 instead of the
existing $20,000. The Committee set a meeting date of November
11, 1987, at 7:30 P.M. for a Closed Session and 8:30 P.M. Open
Session to discuss proposal with Waste Management.
Ald. Penovich moved to approve a Holding Tank request for Edward
Ross, W208 S8903 Hillendale Drive. Seconded by Ald. Taube,
motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 10:45 P.M.
