PWM19840927• PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE — CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 27, 1984
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tomczyk at
7:00 P.M. Also present were Committee Member Hilt, and those per
the attached list. Ald. Gaetzke was absent.
The Committee reviewed Cable TV Status Report with Mr. John
Ingersoll. Mr. Ingersoll presented a map of the cable TV service
completed and areas still to be completed. He stated that it
would take about 15 days to complete service.
Mr. Richard Knudsen, Vice Chairman of the Cable TV Citizens
Committee read the minutes of the September 17, 1984 meeting and
presented the Committee with a copy of the Ingersoll Cable
Corporation Community Access Rules. The Cable TV Citizens
Committee recommended that the City Attorney review the Community
Access Rules.
The Committee reviewed the request for Sportsview Channel. Mr.
John Ingersoll reported that interest in Sportsview has dropped
and he is working on adding additional channels of Sportsview,
Nashville, M.T.V. 2, and a few others at a reduced monthly rate
of approximately $4.00 (additional charge).
• The Committee reviewed correspondence from Waste Management
regarding water utility.
The Committee reviewed the need for Cable TV Citizens
Committee. A lenghty discussion was held on the merits of
continuing the Cable TV Citizens Committee. It was felt that the
Cable TV Citizens Committee should be kept intact until all
problems are resolved. The Welfare Committee recommended a
resolution be drawn up so that the Council can make a decision
whether or not to continue the Cable TV Citizens Committee.
The Committee discussed the Recycling Mandate. They felt that
under Assembly Bill 1035, Muskego does not have to provide a
recycling center because of the landfill operations in the City.
The Committee reviewed Halloween Trick or Treat hours. The
Committee recommended that the Halloween handout activities in
the City of Muskego be held between the hours of 2:00 P.M. and
4:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 28, 1984.
The Committee reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
• Respectfully submitted,
Ald. Daniel J. Hilt
