Muskego Chamber of Commerce The Muskego Chamber of Commerce was represented by members of the • organization to discuss the problems they felt were incurred by having two different zip codes in the city. They are 53150 for Muskego and 53130 for Hales Corners. Mr. Jim Haag explained some of the problems that the two zip codes presented. Some of the problems brought up were discussed such as new people moving in, that it sometimes created a mixup for them, sending out mailings that addresses had to be looked up and that the post offices no longer forward mail with the incorrect address and that it _als o doesn't provide as good community relations with the two zip codes. It was stated also that approximately 1,408, or one-third, of the deliveries are made to the Hales Corners zip code with the balance being under the Muskego's zip code. Considerable discussion was held on how to gain support and inform residents on benefits that would be had under one zip code for the whole city. Suggestions sxch as publicity in the newspaper and information articles circulated throughout the community were made. Mr. Fifer stated that in the long run it should develop a more "total community feeling among all residents within the city." The committee suggested to the Chamber to give a review of their • proposal at a Common Council meeting and to inform all how they wish to proceed in having the change made. The chamber will contact the Mayor's office on the matter. Solid Waste Svstems Ald. Penovich advised he had received information concerning solid waste systems and will discuss the matter at the next meeting of the committee. The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
