PWM19810923• PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 23, 1981 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Radtke. Also present were Committee Members Steinberg and Penovich, Dr. William Stroud, Mr. Jim Shinners of RVS, Chuck Boerner of Muskego- Norway School District, Mayor Gottfried and Dick Steffen. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. The committee discussed refuse disposal and the possibility of municipal pick-up. The committee decided to defer any action until Ald. Knudsen could express his views. The committee discussed tire disposal of the landfill site. The committee decided to defer action until an opinion is received from the city attorney at the next meeting. A report from Gerald Lee was reviewed pertaining to a light on Lentini Drive. A shield has been placed on the light and the problem seems to have been corrected, A report from Gerald Lee on the Thomas Landfill site was reviewed The report indicated that grades would be taken of the area and • his department will continue to monitor the operation. Dr. Stroud reviewed his findings on Cable TV for the committee and considerable discussion took place on the matter. Changes in the RVS proposal for compliance with the proposed Muskego ordinance were discussed by the committee and numerous changes were made. Mr. Chuck Boerner of the Muskego-Norway School District reviewed questions he had prepared for RVS. RVS agreed to give the school system a character generator. It was the decision of the committee to prepare the proposed ordinance with all changes agreed on and have Dr. Stroud review the final ordinance once more. Mr. Dick Steffen of RVS agreed to send to the city a letter incorporating several changes in their proposal. Ald. Penovich moved to submit the final proposed ordinance with RVS's name inserted to the Common Council for the first reading on October 13, 1981. Seconded by Ald. Steinberg. Motion carried. The committee encourages the members of the Common Council tour the RVS facilities prior to final approval. A communication from Mrs. Kurt Faes requesting permission to place a motor home on Mystic Drive was reviewed by the committee. The • committee decided to agree to approve the request and referred the matter back to the Building Inspection Department. Ald. Penovich moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Steinberg. Motion carried.
