• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 24, 1980
The meeting was called to or.dei by Chairman Weed at 7;00 P.M.
Present were committee members Steinberg and Van Lanen. Also
present were Ald. Knudsen, Mayor Gottfried, Mr. Ellery, Mr. Niezgoda,
Mr. Shinners, R.V.S. Cable T.V.
Corrections in the August 25, 1980 minutes were made by Ald. Steinberg.
The Mayor's report on the consortium seems to be that it is not
feasible at this time.
Ald. Knudsen shared his recent conversation regarding consortium
with Mayor Fadrow of Franklin.
Ald. Weed brought up the Cable Television Application. Ald.
Steinberg recommended changes in the application, then made
a motion to send the corrected application to the perspective
grantees in the next few days. Seconded by Ald. Van Lanen. Motion
carried 3-0.
Ald. Knudsen suggested an ad be taken out in the paper. Mayor
Gottfried stated that paper coverage will be obtained as he will
make a press release on September 26, 1980 regarding Cable T.V.
• Mayor Gottfried related that the Tans Landfill Site will stop
operating by December 1980 and be leveled by Spring 1981.
Mayor Gottfried also spoke of the expansion of the Wauer Landfill
Site. Since Waste Management will continue to work with the city
until 1990, the Mayor will have a Resolution for the Common Council
regarding the expanding of the present site.
Ald. Knudsen expressed his concern about the berm on Racine Avenue
that doesn't go below the topography of the area or the grade of
the road to prevent noise from increasing.
Ald. Van Lanen presented a problem with trail bikes, focusing on
numerous repeated violations near the Electric Company right-of-way.
When the Mayor stated that nothing could be done about these
violations, Ald. Weed agreed to having the newspapers contacted
for relief of the problem.
Mr. Ellery asked for the Public Welfare Committee's opinion of sewers
for Bass's Bay. Ald. Van Lanen made a motion that the Welfare
Committee urge the Sewer Committee to expedite the matter of sewers
for Bass Bay. Seconded by Ald. Steinberg. Motion carried 3-0.
Ald. Steinberg moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Weed. The meeting
adjourned at 8:38 P.M.
