MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 26, 1979
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Weed at 7:30 P.M. Also
present were Committee Member Tomczyk and Mayor Gottfried.
Mr. Don Otter and a representative of Waste Management were present
_S at the meeting to discuss the progress which has been made by the
DNR on their proposal to extend the present landfill site northerly
to the areas covered by the agreement executed between the City of
Muskego and Mr. and Mrs. Wauer and Waste Management. Mr. Otter
advised the committee that they had presented their plans, including
a hydrogeological study in June of 1978. He further indicated
that the DNR has apparently finally approved the plans.
Mr Otter indicated that they would like to begin preparation of
Phase I of the expansion immediately which would take approximately
45 working days.
In answer to a question from Ald. Tomczyk Mr. Otter indicated the
life of the present landfill site was February, 1980. Chairman
Weed noted that the present contract with the city expires in
1983 and the city will have to begin considering plans to negotiate
• a new contract with the parties involved.
Mr. Otter promised to keep the Welfare Committee advised as to the
progress that is being made to extend the landfill site and that
there has been a substantial reduction in the amount of materials
being brought into the site to make certain the citizens of Muskego
would have a place to bring their trash, etc.

meeting adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
