MINUTES OF MEETING HELD DECEMBER 7, 1978
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ford at 7:10 P.M. Also
present were Aldermen Schaumberg and Wallner.
Mr. Henry Wolf, Chairman of the Senior Citizens Study Committee,
appeared at the meeting to discuss the report of the Senior Citizens
Study Committee recently presented to the Council.
The committee reviewed with Mr. Wolf the results of the Study
Committee. It was suggested that the Chamber of Commerce could
possible become involved in helping to locate another doctor
in the city. Other items discussed were progress of the Nutrition
Program, housing for the elderly, communication and transportation
Following discussion it was the feeling of the committee that
members of the County Board of Supervisors and some members of the
Study Committee should be invited to attend future meetings to
discuss the phase of the study which they were most involved in.
Mrs. Blenda Treba and the County Board Supervisors from the city
will be invited to attend the next committee meeting to participate
in the discussions. The committee discussed the possibility of
• having several committees appointed who would be involved in
each phase of the recommendations presented by the Study Committee
Discussion was held concerning the landfill operation in the city.
It was agreed that because of the present contract between Waste
Management, Carl and Lydia Wauer and the City expires in 1983
that the city must begin preparing for meeting the needs of the
citizens after that date. Building Inspector Lee will be invited
to the next meeting to discuss the matter.
There being no further business A1d. Wallner moved to adjourn.
Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned
at 8:40 P.M.
