PWM197706290 PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 29, 1977 The meeting was called to order at 6:45 P.M. by Chairman Pienkos. Also present was Ald. Van Lanen, Donna and Ronald Honerlaw, Robert J. Rogers and Mr. and Mrs. Orlow Zlensky. The committee discussed with the citizens listed above the possib- ility of the city installing tornado warning systems throughout the city. Following suggestions and comments by the citizens, Ald. Pienkos suggested that the committee contact commun- ities in the vicinity to determine the procedures used in warning their citizens of impending tornados. The committee agreed to discuss with Mayor Gottfried and Police Chief Kraus the city's plans for developing the necessary warning system. Mr. Rogers, an employee of the Wisconsin Telephone Company, suggested that the Telephone Company be contacted for an estimated cost of installing a warning system. Ald. Van Lanen moved to accept the minutes of June 15, 1977. Seconded by Ald. Pienkos, motion carried. Building Inspector Lee will be invited to the next meeting to discuss the status of the spreading of sludge on the Alvin Basse property • Ald. Pienkos advised the committee that he had visited the city garage used by the Park and Recreation Department and indicated that Mr. Damaske as well as Park and Recreation Director Pischke agreed that in the event of any damage to the water pump there should be equal responsibility on both their parts. E The committee discussed the information printed on the Dump Permit presently used by the city. It was agreed that if a phone number to the dump is available it should be included on the next printing of the permit. A communication from Building Inspector Lee regarding an existing alleyway adjacent to property owners living on Center Drive as well as the 30' right-of-way at the end of Michi Drive was received and placed on file. The committee acknowledged receipt of a proposed drainage plan for the proposed civic center site. Ald. Pienkos moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Van Lanen Motion carried.
