Mr. William Ritzman appeared at the meeting regarding his request for a holding tank to serve his property in the vicinity of Highway "00" and 1136". Chairman Knudsen moved to recommend Council approval of Resolution #176-74 per- mitting said holding tank. Seconded by Alderman Wallner, motion carried. Mr. Gordon Herda appeared regarding his request for a holding tank permit in order that he could construct a new home on land which will not support a private disposal bed. Mr. • Herda advised the Committee that he is fully aware of the cost involved in the construction and installation of a hold- ing tank. Alderman Wallner moved to recommend Council approval for the installation of a holding tank for the Gordon Herda residence. Seconded by Chairman Knudsen, motion carried. The Public Welfare Committee discussed with Mr. Ripley the need for the Council to establish criteria to help in consid- ering future requests for holding tanks for new buildings. Mr. Ripley also explained to the committeethe reasons his department has been investigating private disposal systems being used around Big Muskego Lake. He stated that the Health Department now requires meeting the State Plumbing Code when any correction is needed for a disposal system. Discussions were also held to determine what the terms meeting the State Plumbing Code meant. It was agreed that in most instances it related to the disposal system outside the home. Chairman Knudsen reported that there appeared to be no activ- ity at the Thomas Landfill site. Correspondence was reviewed and placed on file.
