MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 19, 1973
• The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ron Ford at 7:15 P.M. Also
present were Aldermen Ray Wallner, Richard Knudsen, Charles Foldy, Ed.
Dumke, Paul Schaumberg and Mayor Gottfried.
Ald. Wallner was nominated Secretary and elected by unanimous vote.
Discussion was held regarding the possibility of using the properties
of Clarence Froelich, George Kostka and Melvin Daliege as deposit sites
for the dredging project. Ald. Knudsen moved to recommend a feasibility
study of the area by the City Planner. Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion
carried.
Mr. Harvey Larsen of Waste Management of Wisconsin appeared to explain
to the committee the areas from which the materials are hauled. They
also reported that the recycling operation at this point has progressed
and is successful. It also was agreed that the area for dumping in 1973
be staked out and tonnage of fill be filed monthly with the City. Ald.
Knudsen moved to recommend to the Finance Committee that the request
for a Refuse Hauling Permit for Best Disposal Co. be approved. Seconded
by Ald. Ford, motion carried.
•A copy of a letter from the Dept. of Natural Resources, directed to
Mayor Gottfried, dated April 17, 1973, was reviewed. The letter indicated
that they are requesting Norman Thomas will be required to do further
exploratory work be done before a decision on the issuance of a Sanitary
Landfill Permit is made. Letter placed on file.
Petition was received signed by 28 people requesting that the City of
Muskego take action to stop the storage of equipment and supplies stored
in back of the Pizza Parler and that the rubbish accumulated on lands
owned by Dandilion Park be removed. No action was taken by the committee.
Ald. Foldy reported a nuisance on the Halada property on Janesville Rd.
This will be further reviewed and was deferred for two weeks.
A discussion took place on the lack of an Occupancy Permit by John Couture
for his building on Janesville Road. Ald. Knudsen moved, as seconded by Ald.
Ford that legal proceedings to started to force completion of the office
building. Motion carried. The report to the committee by Building
Inspector Lee regarding this matter was reviewed and placed on file.
Ald. Knudsen moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Ford. Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned.
