PWM19710520PUBLIC SEWER/WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 20, 1971 The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Mayor Gottfried. Also present were Aldermen DeBack, Schaumberg and Burgermeister. The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and placed on file. Communication received from Mr. Halfpap, Luehring Drive, regarding the restoration of his property for damage done by sewer contractors. Letter referred to Field Engineer Schaefer for action. Larry VandenPlas, 1350 S96th St., appeared at the meeting, requesting that the sewer line be extended one lot west on College Avenue in order that he could be included in sewered area. Engineers Ruekert & Mielke will be contacted. Mr. Ed. Kumm, Woods Road, appeared at the meeting regarding possible division of his property for sewer service. Referred to Building Inspector Lee. Communication received from Michels Pipe Line Construction Co. requesting permission to use Do -Rite Plumbing and Excavating, Inc. as a sub -con- tractor for lateral construction for Projects MSS-4-71 thru MSS-6-71. Ald. DeBack moved to grant the request, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. Motion carried. Communication received from Ruekert & Mielke regarding inspection manholes. Letter reviewed and placed on file. Ald. DeBack moved to recommend to the Council that bids be advertised for the construction of the treatment plant in the Northeast District. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Copies of letters from Ruekert & Mielke to all Sewer Contractors working on Projects MSS-5-6-7-8-70, regarding failure to complete all clean-up and road maintenance work within the allotted time, were received. The City is imposing the $75.00 per day deduction from final payment as of May 1, 1971, until final acceptance of the project. Ald. DeBack moved that bids be advertised for installation of sewer lateral for Lakeside Tool Building, W180 57767 Pioneer Drive, and residence owned by them at W180 S7785 Pioneer Drive. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. Motion carried. The Committee set Wednesday, June 2, 1971, 8:00 P.M. to hold a meeting • of the Sewer Committee for the purpose of discussing possible changes to Ordinance #127 and the Lake Denoon Project. Mr. Mielke will be in- vited to attend. The Committee also set Tuesday, June 29, 1971, 8:00 P.M. to hold an informational meeting for the purpose of discussing the Lake Denoon Project at Muskego High School. Ald.
