PWM19690917PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 17, 1969 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Wollman at 7:03 P.M. Also present were Aldermen Burgermeister and Sapp. The minutes of the previous meeting held Sept. 3, 1969, were read and •placed on file. Two (2) Junk car violations were read and placed on file. One (1) Zoning violation was read and placed on file. Letter from Dept. of Health and Social Services dated 8/25/69 was read and placed on file. It was the Committee's decision that the building located on Lake Denoon on Racine Ave. that had been viewed by the Committee would not have to be condemned. The building is liveable however the Committee is recommend- ing that no permits be issued for remodeling, etc. Ald. Burgermeister moved that the tax delinquent lots in Fountainwood (Lots 11, 12, 13, Block 16) be placed under the control of the Park • and Recreation Board for use as a City Park. Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried. Discussion took place regarding the request of the Park and Recreation Board as to the possibility of expanding Horn Field City Park, by including a portion of the recent dedication to the City of the Foth property to the west of Horn Field and east of hew Highway "Y". The Committee will take no action on this matter until a full report is received from the Park and Recreation Board as to the proposed use of this land and how much would be needed. Chm. Wollman moved that $5,000.00 in Acct. #583-085, Building Fund, be placed in the Reserve Account, total amount in the account $20,000.00 for the recreation building to be erected at Kurth Park. Seconded by Ald. Burgermeister. Motion carried. The proposed Belt Freeway which which would run through the City of Muskego was discussed. It was noted that some of the communities were not completely in favor of the location of the proposed freeway. The balance of the community parks surrounding Little Muskego Lake were discussed. The Committee felt that these areas should be investigated • by the City Attorney as to the legality of assessing taxes to same and that payment be made by the responsible parties. The Park and Recreation 1970 Budget was discussed and after considerable study the Committee felt that there should be a cut of $10,000.00 in the monies requested under Capital Outlay, Bldg. Fund, Acct. #583-085. Chm. Wollman moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Burgermeister. Motion Varried. The meeting adjourned at 7:45 P.M. Respectfully submitted, R. A. Bur ermeister, Sec'y.
