PWM19690416PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 16, 1969 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Wollman. Present were Chairman Wollman and Aldermen Burgermeister, Cooley and Sapp. • The Minutes of the meeting held April 2, 1969 were approved and placed on file. One (1) junk auto violation was read and placed on file. Three (3) zoning violations were read and placed on file. A proposed resolution regarding the City Attorney's report on the lake front community parks was discussed. Ald. Burgermeister moved to recommend adoption of this resolution by the Common Council. Seconded by Ald. Cooley. Motion carried. Ald. Burgermeister requested that the Public Works Dept. investigate the drainage ditch from Muskego Dr. to the channel at Idle Isle, adjacent to Hardtke Dr. to see if it would be possible to remove the tree roots from the ditch in order to offer better passage of drainage waters and isnot contaminate the ditch with debris that is held up because of these roots. Also, to cut down one dead elm tree in this same area. Ordinance #139 regarding sewer useage fees to churches was discussed and it was recommended that charges be based on congregation membership. A church with less than 250 members would be $72.00 per year and a church with more than 250 members would be $100.00 per year. The Committee discussed the possibility of setting some type of control measures regarding the removal of ground from excavations due to sewer and gas line projects and fill projects on properties. Many problems are now existing and arising due to the deviation of natural drainages due to these fill projects and are causing minor flood problems to both private and city properties. It was suggested that before any filling would or could be permitted that a permit be obtained from the City Engineer. Ald. Cooley moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Burgermeister. Motion carried.
