PWM19690319PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO • MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 19, 1969 The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. by Chairman Wollman. A1sc present were Aldermen Burgermeister, Cooley, Linck and Mayor Wieselmann. The Minutes of the meeting held March 5, 1969 were approved and placed on file. Two (2) junk car violations were read and placed on file. The hours of the City Dump were discussed and it was decided that the Committee recommend to the Finance Committee to check with Mr. Wauer to see if the hours on Saturday could be extended until at least 4:00 P.M. for the convenience of citizens using the dump. The Committee viewed the City Dump at various hours on March 16, 1969. Further recommendation will be made at a later date. It is the Committee's recommendation to have the Building Inspector follow up on the Sam Jones property located at W180 57953 Racine Ave. •due to sewerage problems and report back to the Committee at the next meeting with his findings. Ald. Burgermeister suggested that some time during the latter part of April or early part of May that the City should proclaim a "City Beautification" week. It was agreed that the second week of May was the most practical to set such a week. It is the Committee's recommendation to the Mayor to proclaim said week as such. Ald. Burgermeister advised, after attending the Little Muskego Lake Association meeting on March 17, 1969, that the Association was most concerned with the drainage water of our own City and that of the City of New Berlin further contaminating the lake. It was discussed at length and Mayor Wieselmann indicated that the Mayor of the City of New Berlin was working with us to control these problems as much as possible. The City of Muskego will also investigate further to better these problems. Ald. Cooley moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ald. Burgermeister. Motion carried.
