PWM19680819• PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 19, 1968 The meeting was called to order at 7:12 P.M. Present were Chairman Wollman, Alderman Burgermeister and Mr. Gottfried. • Mayor Wieselmann arrive at 7:45 P.M. Minutes of meeting held August 5, 1968, were approved as read and placed on file. Nine (9) zoning violations were read and placed on file. A bill in the amount of $64.95 from Charles Fickau for cost of materials for erection of City entrance signs was received. Chairman Wollman moved, seconded by Ald. Burgermeister, to recommend to the Finance Committee approval of payment. Motion carried. Motion by Ald. Burgermeister, seconded by Chairman Wollman that Public •Works apply some type of coating on Muskego Drive between Lannon Dr. and Forest Drive due to dust from street being torn up because of sewer construction.- to be referred to the Public Works Committee. Motion carried. It was discussed and recommended that the Welfare Committee be afforded a copy of the Building Inspector's updating map referred to in Plan Commission meeting of August 8, 1968, for their records. The Committee discussed the request of the Committee for the Grand Opening of Racine Avenue on September 28, 1968 with the following recommendations: Public Safety Committee to coordinate with the Police Department for the parking requirements for same; Public Safety Committee to obtain permission from County for closing of Racine Avenue for hours between 4:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.; Public Works Committee to have Public Works Department furnish necessary man -power and equipment for clean-up; Finance Committee requested to approve expenditure in the amount of $600.00 for fireworks display, 10% of cost for operator $60.00 and 12% of cost for insurance $72.00, total cost of $732.00 It was brought to the attention of the Committee that the Earl Lederhaus has been residing in a service station at the corner of Highway 24 and High- way "Y". Action to be taken by Building Inspector. • Ald. Burgermeister moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Wollman, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 8:01 P.M. Respectfully submitted, / • R. S.
