• SPECIAL MEETING HELD JULY 27, 1966
Chairman Wieselmann called the meeting to order at 8:45 P.M.
Present were Alderman Lentini, Alderman Budish and Mayor Gottfried.
. This special meeting was called to inform the citizens of the
southern portion of Muskego as to the status of the Wisconsin
Electric Power Company's proposed transmission line.
Alderman Wieselmann explained to the people what had taken place
between the Council and Attorney Hippenmeyer.
The following citizens were present:
Hans Keiser, S103 W19215 Kelsey Dr., Muskego
Harold DeBack, W198 S10856 Racine Ave.
Mrs. Gerald Loughney, R# 1 Box 145, Big Bend, Wis.
James Maney, R# 1 Box 93, Big Bend, Wisconsin
Wayne Salentine, R#3, Muskego
George Salentine, R#3, Parker Dr., Muskego
Alvin Guhr, R# 3, Muskego, Wis.
• Mrs. Loughney explained that she had contacted an attorney on
this problem as to whether it would be best to sell their property
to the Power Company or to lease it. It was suggested to the
citizens present that their best course of action would be to
obtain their own legal Counsel.
By the general discussion of the people it was their feeling
that they were being treated unfairly by the Electric Power
Company.
Alfred and Carl Wauer appeared before the Committee to discuss
the dump problem. Mr. Wauer informed the Committee that they
have purchased a new tractor and that the condition at the dump
has improved. They also have erected a cable to separate the
dumping of brush and garbage.
Mayor Gottfried stated that he had inspected the dump site on
this particular evening and it looked very good except that one small
area was still burning. Mr. Alfred Wauer explained that the big
problem was the tremendous amount of dead elm coming in which must
be burned. He said it is impossible to bury the stumps, sofas,
stuffed chairs, etc.
It was agreed by the Committee that a letter would be sent out to
all of the citizens of Muskego to make them aware of the dumping
• restrictions. Also a new dumping permit would be issued to all
citizens which would have to be shown when entering the City dump
site.
