PWM19651006_ PUBLIC WELFARE COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
• MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 69 1965
The meeting was called to order at 3:50 P.M. Alderman Budish
as Chairman, along with Mayor Gottfried and Aldermen Hudziak and
• DeAngelis were in attendance.
COMMUNICATIONS from City Clerk read regarding the removal of
dead animals. The rendering plant had been taking care of this
• problem, but now have no one available to do so. This committee
felt that when private owners of small dead animals are known,
they should be advised by the Clerk to dispose of them. In other
instances, the Highway Su.perintendant will be informed and he
may designate one of his crew to remove and dispose of same. The
Committee shall also contact Mr. Kelly and ascertain whether he
would be interested and willing to undertake a portion of this
problem.
REPORT OF NEW WELFARE CASES received and placed on file.
WAUKESHA COUNTY HEALTH DEPT.: The fourth Annual Report of the
Waukesha County Health Dept. was received. Same to be left on
the Mayor's desk should anyone desire to review it.
ASPHALT PLANT: A general discussion took place on the subject.
' All members of the Committee stated that they viewed the plant
again. Word was received that Mr. Dale Dawson of the plant
will hold a demonstration at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 9.
The Mayor and all Aldermen are being urged to attend.
PARK AND RECREATION BOARD: The Board requests permission from the
Welfare Committee to insert a flyer within the next issue of the
City Newsletter relative to the formation of a Park Board Band.
The Committee found no objections to the request. Request granted.
Upon motion duly made and carried at their last meeting, the
Board instructed Alderman DeAngelis to request the sum of $41000
from their next year's budget, whereas they can immediately, start
repairs on the building at Jewel Crest. The Board feels that
better bids can be obtained. at this time of year --that this
activity and work will curb vandalism --that the building should
be heated to preserve it --and, foremost, that once their budget
is allocated they can continue after the first of the year and
complete the job in time for the spring programs. Alderman
DeAngelis moved that the Welfare Committee approve the request
of the Park and Recreation Board and recommend to the Council
the approval of the transfer of $4,000 from the General Fund to
the Park and Recreation Board Fund for the purpose of beginning
repairs to the Jewel Crest Recreation Building. Alderman Budish
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
• There being no further business, Alderman Budish moved to adjourn.
Alderman Hudziak seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
