MINUTES OF MEETING JUNE 2, 1965
COMMITTEE MEETING CONVENED ON JUNE 2, 1965 AT 3:45 AT CITY
HALL. ALDERMAN BUDISH, AS CHAIRMAN, ALONG WITH MAYOR GOTT-
FRIED AND ALDERMEN HUDZIAK AND DEANGELIS WERE IN ATTENDANCE.
MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING WERE APPROVED.
ENTRANCE SIGNS: COMMUNICATIONS WERE AGAIN RECEIVED FROM
MR. KNETZER STATING THAT THE ENTIRE MATTER COVERING THE LOCA-
TION OF SIGNS, DESIGN, STYLE, AND CONSTRUCTION DETAILS SHOULD
BE READY AND PROVIDED BY THE NEXT COUNCIL MEETING OR VERY
CLOSE THEREOF.
PARK AND RECREATION BOARD: ALDERMAN DEANGELIS OUTLINED VERY
BRIEFLY NEW BUSINESS WHICH WILL BE INTRODUCED TO THE PUBLIC
WELFARE COMMITTEE. SUCH ITEMS OF INTEREST AS THE JEWEL
CREST BUILDING AND GROUNDS, TENNIS AND BASKETBALL COURTS,AND
EXTENDED INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR BUILDING AT HORN FIELD.
CORRESPONDENCE: FROM MESSRS. L. HUBKA AND A. E. FAUCETT RE-
QUESTING PERMISSION TO INSTALL TENNIS COURTS AND A BASKETBALL
COURT ON COMMUNITY PROPERTY READ AND REVIEWED. THIS COMMITTEE
WILL CONSIDER THE REQUEST AND REFER THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS TO
THE PARK AND RECREATION BOARD.
FROM MAYOR GOTTFRIED TO MAYOR EARL RATHKE OF NEW BERLIN RE-
QUESTING THAT HE ASSIST IN ALEVIATING A PROBLEM CAUSED BY DUST
ON THE PRIVATE ROAD LEADING FROM RACINE AVE. TO THE VALLEY
SAND AND GRAVEL PIT (NOW NEW BERLIN), NEW BERLIN HAD TAKEN I17-
MEDIATE ACTION AND OBLIGED OUR MAYOR'S REQUEST BY GRAVELING AND
OILING THE ROAD IN QUESTION.
FROM INSPECTOR LEE TO MR. MOVROYDIS ADVISING HIM THAT LEGAL
NOTICE WILL BE PUBLISHED TO RECEIVE BIDS TO RAZE HIS BUILDING.
UPON RECEIPT OF COMMUNICATION, MR. MOVROYDIS STATED HE WILL
DEFINITELY HAVE HIS BUILDING RAZED WITHIN THREE (3) WEEKS.
HORN FIELD BUILDING: THE NEW CEDAR SIDING ON THE BUILDING AT
HORN FIELD NEEDS A COAT OF STAIN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. MA YOR
GOTTFRIED HAS VOLUNTEERED TO PROVIDE HIS ENERGY AND TIME TO
ASSIST IN PAINTING THE BUILDING. HE ALSO REQUESTS THAT IF ANY
OR ALL ALDERMEN WOULD DESIRE TO DON OLD CLOTHES AND BRUSH AND
DONATE THEIR SERVICES TO PLEASE STEP FORWARD. PAINT AND STAIN
• TO BE REQUESTED FROM PARK AND RECREATION BOARD.
GARBAGE CARRIER: COMPLAINT WAS REGISTERED TO THE WELFARE COM-
MITTEE BY A CITZEN THAT A CARRIER WAS DROPPING DEBRIS ON HWY.,
DURHAM ROAD,. COMMITTEE TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER INTO COMPLAINT.
WAVER'S DUMP: COMMITTEE FEEL'S THAT THE OWNERS OF WAUER'S
DUMP SHOULD BE COMPLIMENTED ON THE PRESENT APPEARANCE OF THEIR
PLACE FOR REFUSE. THE APPEARANCE INDICATED THAT IF THE PROPER
LAND FILL METHOD IS EMPLOYED, APPEARANCE AS WELL AS THE HEALTH
ASPECT, CAN BE ACHIEVED TO COMPLIMENT THE COMMUNITY.
THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, ALDERMAN HUDZIAK MOVED TO
ADJOURN AS SECONDED BY ALDERMAN BUDISH. MEETING ADJOURNED AT
5: 10PM.
