MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, JULY 285 2003.
Chairman Patrick Patterson called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM.
Present were Committee Members Aid. Patrick Patterson, Aid. Chris Buckmaster and
Aid. Chuck Damaske. Also present was Police Chief John Johnson and those per
attached list. Engineering and Building Inspection Director Sean McMullen and Public
Works Superintendent Wayne Delikat were excused.
Aid. Patterson noted the meeting was posted in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
REVIEW OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Aid. Damaske moved to
approve the minutes of June 23, 2003. Seconded by Aid. Buckmaster, motion
carried unanimously.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Update on Parkland Mall — Nothing new to report.
is Status of Refuse/Recycling — Nothing new to report.
Status of Cable TV / Concerns of Customer Service — Nothing new to report.
Status of proposed policy for traffic calmin¢ - Residents of the Muskego Drive area
were present to request the speed bumps, recently installed on Muskego Dr., removed.
Mrs. Terry Stefaniak presented the Committee with the attached letter and signatures of
over 5o residents who would like to see the speed bumps removed. Mrs. Stefaniak
explained that she is concerned with the noise of cars, trailers, and construction trucks
going over the bumps at all hours of the day and night. She stated the houses along
Muskego Drive are set close to the road and from her bedroom she can hear every time a
vehicle goes over the bump. Mrs. Stefaniak also questioned the speed bumps being
located so close to the curve in the road. She recommended placing them where the road
opens straight. Mrs. Jill Stehnaszewski stated she was concerned with damage to lower
riding vehicles. She explained that the bumps are so high she has to come to a stop
before going over the bump. Residents requested other options for the City to consider,
stop signs, crosswalks or traffic calming arrows. Aid. Damaske moved to have the
speed bumps completely removed from Muskego Dr. Aid. Buckmaster seconded.
Motion carried 3-0. Aid. Patterson noted that he still supports the concept and would
like to continue testing the speed bumps.
• NEW BUSINESS
Brooke Lane — No Thru — street si¢n - Chief Johnson stated the "No Thru" sign has
already been installed by Public Works.

Hillendale — across from Mill Valley School — No Parkine - Ald. Damaske informed
the Committee he had been receiving calls from residents on School Drive regarding
vehicles parked on their property for functions at the school. Ald. Damaske stated the
shoulder of the road is narrow and cars are parking off the shoulder and tearing up the
grass. Ald. Damaske also noted the parking lot at the school is large enough to
accommodate functions at the school. Ald. Damaske moved to recommend to Council
creating a new resolution for no parking south of School Drive on both sides of the
street at a length to be determined by the Superintendent of Public Works.
Seconded by Ald Buckmaster. Motion carried 3-0.
Further review of request for installation of stop siEn at intersection of Ouietwood
Drive and Martin Dr. - The Committee discussed posting recreational trail signage at
the cross roads of recreational trails. Chief Johnson noted that there are many
recreational trails that cross major roads in Muskego that are currently not posted. Ald.
Buckmaster will bring this item to the Park and Recreation Board for recommendation.
Ald. Buckmaster moved to defer. Seconded by Ald. Damakke. Motion carried 3-0.
Communication and any other business as authorized by law —
Report on Salvase and Recvclina permit — Kohne Salvaffe — Ald. Patterson noted this
item was approved at Common Council with the condition that the gate be painted
removed.
Ald. Damaske requested Chief Johnson review the accident history for College and
Racine. Chief will research accident logs for Muskego and New Berlin and bring to the
next meeting.
Being no further business to discuss, Ald Damaske moved to adjourn the meeting,
seconded by Ald. Buckmaster. Carried by all and meeting adjourned at 10:12 PM.
