MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, AUGUST 6, 2001
Chairman Patrick Patterson called the meeting to order at 7:04 PM.
Present was Committee Member Aid. Rick Petfalski. Also present were City
Engineering/Bldg. Inspection Director McMullen and Public Works Superintendent
Wayne Delikat. Excused were Aid. Chuck Wichgers, and Police Chief John Johnson.
Aid. Patterson noted the meeting was posted in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
*REVIEW OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: The Committee reviewed the
minutes of the July 10, 2001, meeting. Aid. Petfalski moved to approve the minutes as
presented, seconded by Aid. Patterson. Motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Update on status of Condemnations/Citations-Parkland Mall Demolition Permit —
Director McMullen reported a walkthrough will be done at Parkland Mall to verify all
rubble over 12 inches has been cleared up and all metal, glass and plastic is removed.
Status of Recycling/Refuse — Superintendent Delikat reported 13 complaints for July.
Garbage Pickup missed 5
Recycling pickup missed 3
Recycling bin not received 4
White goods pickup missed 1
Status of Cable TV audio - Nothing new to report. Aid. Patterson requested this item be
removed from the agenda.
Status of proposed poliey for traffic calming — Director McMullen reported on two
new materials from Tapco, grind in lights and reflectorized lights. A representative from
Tapco will be in the area next month and will meet Director McMullen and
Superintendent Delikat at the City Garage.

NEW BUSINESS:
Aid. Patterson asked that he be notified so
Review Signage — Ruby Drive — Aid. Petfalski requested No Parking signs be placed on
the inner side of Ruby Drive and along the curves. Ruby Drive is a narrow road and if
cars are parked on both sides of the street emergency vehicles will not be able to get
through. Aid. Petfalski will survey the property owners on Ruby Dr. and will also talk to
Chief Johnson. An ordinance will be drafted and the appropriate information will be
added at the next meeting.

Determine Refuse/Recycling fee for 2002 — Aid. Petfalski moved to recommend
leaving the 2002 rate at the same level as 2001, $82.40 and $70.00 with the following
breakdown:
$57.40 of the $82.40 going to refuse and $25.00 to recycling.
$48.70 of the $70.00 going to refuse and $21.30 to recycling.
Aid. Petfalski further recommended that the Metro Landfill fees for 2001 and 2002
be moved from the Landfill fund to the Recycling fund. Seconded by Aid.
Patterson, motion carried.
Communication and anv other business as authorized by law — Due to Labor Day the
next meeting will be Wednesday, September 5, 2001.
Being no further business to discuss, Aid. Petfalski moved to adjourn the meeting,
seconded by Aid. Patterson. Carried by all and meeting adjourned at 7:22 PM.
