PSCM20010205• PUBLIC SERVICES COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO APPROVED MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2001. Chairman Patrick Patterson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Present were Committee Members Alderman Chuck Wichgers and Alderman Butch Le Doux. Also present Chief John Johnson and Alderman Chiaverotti. City Engineering/Bldg. Inspection Director McMullen and Public Works Supt. Delikat were absent. Ald. Patterson noted the meeting was posted in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. REVIEW OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: The Committee reviewed the minutes of the December 4, 2000 meeting. Ald. Le Doux moved to approve the minutes as presented, seconded by Ald. Wichgers. Motion carried. OLD BUSINESS: Update on status of Condemnations/Citations-Parkland Mall Demolition Permit- Nothing to report. Update on Existing Forms and Ordinances — Nothing to report. No further forms brought • forward. Status of Recycling/Refuse — Ald. Wichgers requests that Public Works Supt. Delikat contact BFI asking the drivers to turn the trash cans upside down or place the lids back on the cans. Ald. Patterson noted that the City requested this in the past, but it is not required in BFI's contract to do this. In the past a simple request has helped in correcting the citizens concerns. Status of Cable TV Emergency Broadcasting— Ald. Patterson questioned whether or not the committee would proceed with the emergency broadcasting issue as the City has now implemented an outdoor emergency warning system. Chief Johnson requested it stay on the agenda until the outdoor system is completely installed. Further discussion of request for "No Parking" signs -Lakeview Drive (Ridge Road to Hillendale- Ald. Chiaverotti was present along with property owners Ken and Suzanne Haima of W 199 S7503 Lakeview Dr. The City has begun filling in the ditch on Lakeview excluding the Hans Poss property where "No Parking" signs will be placed. Aid. Le Doux moved to approve "No Parking" signs on SW side of Lakeview. Seconded by Aid. Wichgers. Motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: Request for School Crossing Zone/Additional "No Parking" zones at Muskego Elementary School — Diane and Tammy Kostecki of Kingdom Care Child Center were present to discuss safety issues on Janesville Rd. Chief Johnson recommended "No Parking" on both sides of Janesville Rd. from Westwood to Park during school hours and also placing a crosswalk between Is the school and Child Center. Ald. Wichgers was concerned with the Tanning Salon on Janesville losing parking spots during school hours. Aid. Le Doux moved to request that Waukesha Public Services Committee Page 2 February 5, 2000 County put in a painted crosswalk between Muskego Elementary School and the parking lot across street and also placing "No Parking" signs during school hours between Westwood and Park on both sides of the street. COMMUNCIATIONS AND ANY OTHER BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW: Aid. Patterson reported that he has not heard from Digital Access and is not expecting anything new until March or April. ADJOURNMENT: Being no further business to discuss, Ald. Wichgers moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Ald. Le Doux. Carried by all and meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM.
