MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 4, 2000
The meeting was elled to order at T 15 PM by Chairman Patrick Patterson. Present were
Committee Members Alderman Chuck Wichgers and Alderman Butch Le Doux. Also present
were City Engineering/Bldg. Inspection Director McMullen, Public Works Supt. Delikat, Chief
John Johnson, Alderman Slocomb, and Alderman Chiaverotti.
Ald. Patterson noted the meeting was posted in accordance with the Open Meeting Law.
REVIEW OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: The committee reviewed the minutes
of the November 6, 2000 meeting. Ald. Patterson made clarification under personal appearance.
Mr. Brian Nemoir of Digital Access will not appear before the committee until they have
finished gathering the requested data. Ald. Patterson also made a correction to the request for
"Horse Crossing" signs east of Crowbar to read: two signs on Parker Drive one facing east and
one facing west. Ald. Le Doux moved to amend the minutes and approve, seconded by Ald.
Wichgers. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS:
Update on status of Condemnations/Citations-Parkland Mall Demolition Permit- Director
McMullen reported the crews are still working on removing the concrete floor. The deadline for
demolition is December 31, 2000.
Update on Existing Forms and Ordinances — Nothing to report. No further forms brought
forward.
Status of Recycling/Refuse— Public Works Supt. Wayne Delikat reported the following garbage
and recycling complaints for November:
Missed garbage pickup 12
Missed white goods pickup 3
Missed tire pickup 1
Missed furniture pickup I
Garbage left on roadway 2
Wayne reported the main complaint he receives is new drivers missing door pick-ups from the
elderly who cannot get their trash to the road.
Status of Cable TV Emergency Broadcasting :— Ald. Wichgers was investigating a different
type of emergency broadcasting and did not feel it was cost effective. Ald. Patterson has an
information video that he is going to view and then pass on to Ald. Le Doux.
Further discussion of Burning Ordinance — Distance from water - Chief Johnson discussed
the revisions to the Burning Ordinance — 9.14. Ald. Wichgers moved to recommend to Council
to amend Chapter 9, Section 9.14(2) of the municipal code to read as follows:
9.14 OPEN RESTRICTED

• (2) No person shall burn any materials of any kind within 20 feet of the water edge, in
drainage ditches, or on or along water courses. The burning of cattails, prairies,
canary grass, exotic weed species, brush or similar materials on, in or near a lake,
stream, or wetland is allowed with notice to the Muskego Police Department in
advance of a burn. Above burning is subject to provisions of Section (3).
(3) Outdoor burning regulated except as prohibited by Sections I and 2: Outdoor
burning within the city shall be allowed as follows:
(a.) The burning of dry brush, dry leaves, dry plant clippings, dry limbs, dry
branches, dry logs or "bon" fires containing similar materials is allowed
subject to the following regulations (Ordinance #755 6-18-92)
(c) Small outdoor fires for cooking, ceremonies, or recreational camp fires shall
be allowed.
Seconded by Ald. Le Doux. Motion carried 3-0.
Further discussion of request for "No Parking" signs -Lakeview Drive (Ridge Road to
Hillendale- Deferred to the January meeting to allow neighbors to contact homeowner who has
been out of town.

Being no further business to discuss, Ald. Wichgers moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by
Ald. Le Doux. Carried by all and meeting adjourned at 7:32 PM.
