PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMITTEE MEETING
Minutes of Meeting Held Monday, February 19, 2007
Chairman Eileen Madden called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Also present
were Ald. Tina Schaefer, Ald. Tracy Snead, Public Utilities Superintendent Scott
Kloskowski, City Administrator Sheiffer, and Ruekert 8: Mielke representative
Rich Eberhardt. Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Chairman stated that the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open
Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 22, 2007
Ald. Schaefer moved to approve the minutes of meeting held January 22, 2007.
Ald. Snead seconded; motion carried.
STATUS OF PROJECTS
Mr. Eberhardt updated the! Committee on on -going projects, as per attached
Consultant's Report.
• Public Utilities Superintendent Kloskowski reported that there is on -going
discussion regarding future well site (Well #14). He stated that the detention
pond for the Belle Chase Subdivision was sited too close to the proposed well
site, and consequently Bluihm Park property will be needed. He stated that the
developer should have been given more direction when siting the detention pond.
It was noted that Ald. Snead is also a member of the Park and Recreation Board
as well the Public Utilities Committee. Ald. Snead stated that the Park &
Recreation Board is hesitant to allow Park property to be diminished. Public
Utilities Superintendent IKloskowski was directed to work with the Park &
Recreation Board to determine compensation options for the Parks and
Recreation Department.
Public Utilities Superintendent Kloskowski stated that the Sewer & Water
Facilities Plan will be presented at the Committee of the Whole meeting on
Thursday, February 22, 2007.
SEWER UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Status of Forced Connection — Utilities Superintendent Kloskowski stated there
was nothing new to report.

Determination of Sanitary Sewer For Properties West of Lake Denoon —
Fenwick Estates - Utilities Superintendent Kloskowski stated there was nothing
new to report.
SEWER NEW BUSINESS
Review Request for Adjustment to Sewer Usage Charge — W135 S8287 Holz
Drive - Resident has requested their sewer charge be eliminated since they do
not reside at this property. Public Utilities Superintendent Kloskowski advised
that the Ordinance does not allow sewer charges to be forgiven for properties
that are vacant. An Ordinance change would be required to allow the
adjustment. Aid. Schaefer moved to deny request. Seconded by Aid. Snead;
motion carried 3-0.
WATER UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Determination of Water Service for Crystal Lake Subdivision — Utilities
• Superintendent stated therre was nothing new to report.
WATER NEW BUSINESS
Review Quote for Pilot Study — Well #13 - The Committee reviewed quote
from Tonka Equipment Company in the amount of $11,000.00 to provide pilot
equipment to perform iron removal at Well #13. Aid. Snead moved to approve
quote as submitted. .)econded by Aid. Schaefer; motion carried 3-0.
ADJOURNMENT
Aid. Snead moved to adjourn at 7:15 p.m. Seconded Iby Aid. Schaefer; motion
carried 3-0.
