PUM20030408CITY OF MUSKEGO SPECIAL PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMITTEE MEETING Approved MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 2003 Chairman Eileen Madden called the meeting to order at 7:23 p.m. Committee Members Eric Schroeder and Rick Petfalski were also present, as well as Mayor Slocomb, Aid. Damaske, Le Doux, Patterson and Salentine, and Deputy Clerk Blenski. Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance. It was stated that the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. SEWER - NEW BUSINESS Review Termination Agreement as to Amended and Restated Petition for Improvements and Agreement Regarding Special Assessments Entered By and Between Country Club Villages, Inc. and the City of Muskego Dated August 23, 1994, and Agreement as to Use of REC's Mayor Slocomb provided a brief history of the Country Club Villages development and the prior agreements. Aid. Petfalski moved to recommend approval of the termination agreement. Aid. Schroeder seconded; motion carried. WATER - NEW BUSINESS Review and Recommend the Bid for the Durham Drive Water Project The following bids were received: Wanasek Corporation, Inc. $ 786,373.50 Underground Pipeline, Inc. 800,635.50 Musson Bros., Inc. 819,889.15 Super Excavators, Inc. 833,960.00 Globe Contractors, Inc. 933,336.00 United Sewer & Water, Inc. 999,544.00 Mainline Sewer & Water, Inc. 1,054,523.70 The Mayor noted the bids submitted were under the amount estimated. Aid. Schroeder moved to recommend that the bid submitted by the Wanasek Corporation in the amount of $786,373.50 be accepted for the Durham Drive Water Project. Aid. Madden seconded. This concurs with the recommendation of the City's consulting engineers, R. A. Smith & Associates.' Motion carried with Aid. Petfalski abstaining because of his business relationship with Towne Realty. Towne Realty will be paying for the project. Aid. Petfalski moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:32 p.m. Seconded by Aid.
